About the breed

The Bengal is a relatively modern breed created by crossing domestic cats with the wild Asian leopard cat, producing a distinctive spotted or marbled coat reminiscent of a small jungle cat. Careful breeding over several generations has yielded a fully domestic temperament while retaining the wild, exotic appearance.

Bengals are highly energetic, athletic and intelligent, delighting in climbing, play and interactive puzzles, and many enjoy water. They need plenty of stimulation and activity to stay content, and can become mischievous if under-exercised. Their short, luxurious coat is low-maintenance and often has a unique glittered sheen.
