About the breed
One of the oldest and most recognisable of all cat breeds, the Siamese originates from Thailand, formerly Siam, where it was prized and kept in temples and royal households. It is defined by its striking colour-point coat — a pale body with darker 'points' on the face, ears, paws and tail — and vivid blue almond-shaped eyes.
Siamese cats are highly intelligent, extremely social and famously vocal, communicating their wishes with a loud, distinctive voice. They form intense bonds with their people and do not cope well with being left alone for long periods. The fine, short coat is easy to care for and needs only occasional grooming.
